Weekly Activities/ Day 3/ Activity 1

Activity 1: What are your favourite things to do in the summer time? For this activity you have two different options: (1) You can take a picture of yourself doing one of your favourite summer time activities and upload it to your blog along with a description of what you’re doing or (2) you can write a paragraph that tells us about what you love doing in the summer on your blog. It is completely up to you!

Option 2.....
Image result for beachIn summertime I'd love to go somewhere with my whole family and make lots of memories. Usually I just sit outside on the mat eating ice blocks, then after that I just go watch T.V and relax. What I used to do is that sometimes me, my cousins and family used to go to the beach almost everyday. What we do is that we meet up over there and we just swim and do bombs when it's high tide.

  2. Hi Courtney!

It sounds like you typically had a very relaxing summer holiday. I like the sound of going to the beach with your family to play in the water, swim around and do bombs when the water is deep enough!

I was actually thinking of taking Aronui to the beach this afternoon after work. It's a beautiful, hot day and the tide on the west coast of Auckland (where I live) is supposed to be in at 5:00 p.m. I think that we may just nip out to the beach for a quick dip!

I see from your blog that you are using the past tense quite a bit. Do you still go swimming with your cousins and family or do you usually stay home and watch TV? Sometimes Aronui and I sit outside and eat ice blocks or go for a walk through the bush. Aronui loves to go for 'bush walks.' We pretend that we're explorers and we go for adventures. It's pretty fun :)

I hope that you are also having fun this summer. You're definitely doing an awesome job with the Summer Learning Journey programme.

Keep up the great work ;-)

    Cheers,
    Rachel

  4. Hi Courtney,

My name is Madeleine, and I live in Canada. I really enjoyed reading your blog! I love going to the beach too, but I'm not a very good swimmer; you could probably teach me. Still, you described it so well, and with the helpful image, I could almost feel myself lying out in the sun (which is nice, because it's winter right now in Canada- brr!). I love your writing style! Keep on writing, and have an amazing day!

  5. Hey Courtney
I also like going to the beach or to the pools. The only bad thing about it is that I always get sun burnt. Great job.

  6. Greetings from cold and Wintery Germany Courtney!

I really enjoyed reading your blog about summer activites - because it is Winter here where I live. Even though the sun is shining today, it is currently -4 degrees! I grew up in Tauranga, and your post makes me think about my home town and trips to the beach there. Thank you for sharing a bit of summer with me!

    Cheers,
    Carolyn
