Matariki

Through the past few weeks I have been learning about Matariki. Matariki is a time for remembering the dead and celebrating new life.

On friday the 1st July  St Pius x catholic school went on a trip to experience St Patrick's Cathedral.

The whole school was getting the opportunity to see the cathedral in town, I was so excited and full of energy.

Once we arrived at the Cathedral we went around to the other side in two lines and crossed our arms to show respect, then we walked through the doors of mercy. We blessed ourselves with the Holy water and we were seated by the priest  and waited for the mass to start.

When the priest came up he said a couple of words then we stood up and sang a song then we were seated again. After the mass we waited for a while then the teachers told us to stand up and take a picture. Then we all sat down and the priest came and talked to us about St Patrick and asking us what he did to help people and how his life had been.

Next we stood up into two lines and sang a song with father larry and while we were singing we were walking and blessing ourselves with the Holy water and went out of the cathedral.

As soon we were outside of the cathedral we went into this place that was next to the cathedral and we all had our lunch there. Last of all we waited for the bus to come and take us back to school, soon or later the bus was here so we all went back into our lines and walked to the bus. When we got back to school some of the classes stayed outside to play and some of the other classes went back inside there class. I had enjoyed my day because I have never been to a cathedral before

Mother's Day

Mum

Mothers are special to us because they are the most trustworthy people. Mothers are the best human beings ever cause I notice some fathers want to be a mother because they notice that mothers have the most special role in the family which is taking care of there beautiful children's.

My mum loves to cook different kind of lovely things, she has black short hair and brownish eye’s. Most of the time she spends time with family and friends. She is helpful and kind to anyone, she encourages me to try and be the best I can at school. I love my mum because she is a loveable, is respectful to me. My Mum likes to sing when music comes on, she likes to share her opinion with other people and she also helps me with my homework.

My Holiday

Holiday

During the holidays I had to stay home and clean up, it was boring, my annoying little brother was still sleeping. After I finished cleaning up inside my Mum told me to go outside and pick up all the rubbish on the grass and under the bushes, it was hard work.

Then later on I was finished, and I was sweating a lot so I went inside, I had a drink and went and sat down on the couch. I said to myself “ I'm so exhausted”, later on when I just finished saying to myself I am so exhausted my Mum shouted at me “go and sweep the driveway” so I got up again!, got the broom then went straight outside again in the hot, sweaty sun to sweep all the disgusting and smelly leaves on the driveway.

When the driveway was clear I went inside again!!! to sit on the couch. Meanwhile I was just playing on my brother’s net book watching videos on youtube.

My Easter Story

Today I have done a presentation about my Easter story, yesterday we read the gospel John 20:1-19 and we had to draw four important pictures in the story we read.
