Weekly Activities/ Day 1/ Activity 1

ACTIVITY 1

After you have read the quick facts about each place you must choose one country that you would like to ‘visit.’ On your blog post the name of the country and tell us why you have chosen to visit it. Please give, at least, two reasons for choosing the country.

My Country: GERMANY

Reason 1- I would like to visit Germany because they have different types of sports but some of them are similar to New Zealand.

Reason 2 - My second reason is that I would like the opportunity to visit Germany because I want to know more about their language and their history.

Reason 3 - My last reason is that  If I got the chance to visit Germany is because there are quite a number of people there so you can meet new people and make friends.

  1. Good morning Courtney! It is wonderful to see that you have joined our learning journey programme this year. I'm thrilled that you're back:)

I am also really interested to read that you have chosen to visit Germany. It is a really interesting place to go. There is so much rich history, amazing architecture and good food to be had in Germany. In fact, two of my close friends are currently living in Germany and they love it!

I hope that you will continue to learn all about Germany over the summer. I'm really looking forward to blogging with you and to hearing all about the people, customs, language, and culture of Germany.

    All the best,

    Rachel

  4. Hi Courtney,

Welcome to the Summer Learning Journey! We are so excited to blog with you over the next four weeks. My name is Dan, and I'm working alongside Rachel and Mark over the summer. I'm lucky enough to be able to read your blogs and I'll be leaving comments as I go. If you want to reply to my comments then please do! I'd love to know what you think, or if you have any questions, feel free to ask away.

Germany sounds like an amazing country to visit. They have so much history, and they remain today such a strong presence in Europe. No doubt you're going to have a lot of fun learning about Germany over the next few weeks. I'm looking forward to reading all about it!

I particularly liked your reasons for wanting to travel to Germany, Courtney. Learning about new languages and cultures is such a wonderful experience. Often what really makes a trip to somewhere new an unforgettable experience is the opportunity to meet new people and make new friends. Do you have any friends living overseas at the moment?

Both New Zealand and Germany are countries who thoroughly enjoy their sport. Sports like water polo and soccer are really popular in European countries. What sports do you like to play?

This is a great start to your Summer Learning Journey. Keep up the great work!

    Dan.
