Weekly Activities/ Day 4/ Activity 2

Activity 2: Before you start packing your suitcase you will want to create a list of everything that you will need to bring with you. Most airlines let you bring one big suitcase with you so you’ll have to think carefully about what you want to bring…

On your blog site, post a list of everything that you need to pack for your trip. Put a star (*) beside the 5 items that you think are the most important.
1. Money*(To buy things)
2. Clothes/ Shoes/ Socks/ Underwear*( To wear everyday)
3. Towel
4. First Aid kit*(If I get injured or hurt)
5. Travelling bags*(To keep stuff that you need when your going)
6. Hat/ beanie/ Scarf
7. Phone/charger*(To keep intouch with my Family)
8. GPS
9. Camera
10. Book/ Pencil
11. Sun screen

  2. Hi Courtney!

Yes, it is a lot of packing but it looks as though you have given the activity quite a bit of thought! Good on you:) You'd hate to get to Germany and not have everything that you needed, wouldn't you?

I love to see that you've included a hat/beanie in your list as it is likely to be pretty cold at this time of year. Two of my close friends are living in Germany and they were telling me that is was -10 degrees there the other day. Yikes! You will need a few jerseys and some long pants as well as warm coat to enjoy your time in the country. Without those, you would freeze! I can remember being a young girl in Canada and having to walk to school in the middle of winter. Some of the time it was -30 degrees outside and we would wear hats, mitts, scarves, a coat, snow pants and snow boots and still be freezing cold! We would often get to school and the skin on our faces would be bright red from the cold. If it was really, really cold our skin might actually be a white and frost burnt. Did you know that you can actually burn your skin in cold weather as well as hot weather? Crazy 'eh?!

Fortunately, we live here in Auckland where it doesn't usually get that cold! We're very lucky, I reckon...

Keep up the great work with your blogging, Courtney! I can't wait to see what you discover next as you journey through Germany!

    All the best,

    Rachel :)

  4. Kia ora Courtney,

That is a really good list! Very comprehensive at looks like you've nearly thought of everything... Can you think of anything you might need as well? A very important document perhaps...?

Like Rachel said, it's good thinking to pack a beanie and a scarf. If it gets down to -10 in Germany, you'll definitely be needing that! Have you ever been somewhere that cold before? I don't think I have... I usually like to travel to somewhere warm in my holidays! Last year during winter I went over to Rarotonga for a week to catch some sunshine. Now that's my kind of holiday! We didn't need too many beanies over there that's for sure :-)

Well done on remembering to pack a First Aid Kit too. When you're travelling, sometimes accidents happen so it is always a good idea to be as prepared as you can be. What kind of things would you pack in your First Aid Kit?

Now that you're all packed, you're almost ready to go. How exciting!

    Cheers,
    Dan.
