Weekly Activities/ Day 5/ Activity 2

Activity 2:
Read the following three reviews of books that are really popular right now in Canada. If you had to choose one for Curious Kiwi to read on the plane, which one would you choose? Post the name of the book that you would chose on your blog. Below the title explain why you would choose that book.

Greg Heffley has always been in a hurry to grow up. But is getting older really all it’s cracked up to be? Greg suddenly finds himself dealing with the pressures of boy-girl parties, increased responsibilities, and even the awkward changes that come with getting older—all without his best friend, Rowley, at his side. Can Greg make it through on his own? Or will he have to face the “ugly truth.”

MY STORY
The best book to read will be Diary of a wimpy kid/ Ugly - truth because this book is about a boy named Greg Heffley was in such a rush to become older but on the inside he has so many thoughts about how it'll actually feel to be older. Greg deals with Boy & Girl parties, big responsibility's and different changes. Greg has a best friend Rowley who is always by his side and that's why I chose this book.

  1. Hello Courtney
The diary of a wimpy kid series is awesome! Curious kiwi will probably enjoy reading the ugly truth and get a laugh while he is at it! Great job.

  2. The Diary of a Wimpy Kid series certainly seems to be popular! Quite a few of the students at St Pius have been recommending these books, so I'm thinking I will have to see what all the fuss is about.

Thank you for another really well written recommendation Courtney. I like how you have told us what the book is about, as well as telling us why you really enjoyed the book too.

Often we are all guilty of thinking 'I can't wait for' something. It might be about getting older, or something you're really looking forward to. My Mum always used to tell me off when I said that to her, she'd tell me to stop wishing my life away. I didn't really listen at the time because I was too impatient! But what I think she meant was that if we spend all of our time looking forward to something else, then sometimes we forget to enjoy the moment and what's happening in the present.

Keep up the great blogging Courtney.

    Cheers,
    Dan.
